Stop Trying to Pry Open Doors God Already Shut

It’s been a while, but this topic here has been extremely heavy on me lately and I couldn’t help but to share.

So here’s the problem. Opportunities are, in most ways, like relationships. Either you take the chance of getting too close to the person and risking a severe life-altering heartbreak (too drastic?) or you miss any chance of allowing something beautiful to blossom and potentially give up on the love of your life.

Frustrating, but true. Sometimes that person you’re interested in may be crossing your path to get to someone else. In other words, opportunities that you run into may not be the opportunity designed specifically for you. It could very well be a lesson of some sort or for you to pass the knowledge on to someone else. Does that make sense?

Look at it this way. You know that position that you’ve applied for at least fifty-leven times and you’re still left hanging? That’s an opportunity that has clearly been blocked. I’m not saying by petty co-workers, I’m saying blocked by God. Stings right?

I get it, but you know that roadmap that you inked all on your own to success just may be totally opposite from what God’s purpose is for you. In fact, He’s probably laughing at how small you’re thinking. He always has greater. He always has better. Your way doesn’t even compare to what God has for you. He shuts doors and in many cases may bolt them shut for your own good. Every obstacle, including closed doors, are presented to strengthen your faith. It’s also to place your feet on the right path.

So how do you know you’re trying to pry open a door that wasn’t meant for you? If it’s in a relationship and deep down, you’re unhappy, but you remain in the toxic affair just to avoid being single, then yeah… you’re trying to pry open a door that wasn’t designed to fit your house. In business and even on our jobs, we do this. We get comfortable in the place that we’re in, but disguise that comfort zone when trying to get a promotion within the same company that doesn’t value you or what you bring to the table. That may be your hint to stop sliding notes under it; remove your hand from the knob and walk away.

What’s for you is for you and you will never need a crowbar to get through a He built for your purpose. I’m not saying this because I think it’s just something to say. I’m saying it, because I’ve lived it. Don’t push and push and push for a favorable outcome if you’re the only one pushing.

When the opportunity is for you, there will be no need to break through it, God will hand-deliver them keys right to you.

I pray discernment and wisdom to walk the path God created purposely for you over your life starting now. I pray that your ambitions expose you to the right people to put you in place to make your dreams come true. I pray you find happiness just by allowing God to do what He does best… and that’s take care of you.

Blessings.
